Getting started
What is IGRS Learning?
IGRS (Institute of GIS & Remote Sensing) is a Dhaka-based institute teaching GIS, remote sensing and geospatial technology. Our online courses combine video lessons, readings, quizzes and assignments, instructed by working professionals.
Do I need GIS experience to join?
Not for beginner courses. Every course is marked Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced, and the course page lists what you will learn, so you can pick the right starting point.

Sign up with your name, email and a password. Use your real full name: it is printed on your certificate.

How do I enroll in a course?
Open the course page and choose Enroll. Free courses unlock right away. For paid courses you are taken to the payment page, where you pay with bKash and submit your transaction details.
How do I pay?
Payments are made with bKash Send Money. On the payment page, send the exact course fee to the IGRS bKash number shown, then enter the bKash number you paid from and the Transaction ID (TrxID) from your bKash SMS. We will never ask for your bKash PIN.
When will my course unlock after paying?
As soon as your payment is confirmed, usually within 24 hours. You can see the status under My Courses in your dashboard.
I entered the wrong Transaction ID or paid a different amount. What now?
Contact us with your bKash number, the TrxID and the course name. We will match the payment and unlock your course manually.

From time to time we share coupon codes. If you have one, apply it on the payment page before you send money, so you pay the discounted amount.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are accepted within 7 days of purchase if you have completed less than 20% of the course. Refunds are not available after 7 days or once a certificate has been issued.

Why are some lessons locked?
On most courses lessons unlock in order: finish one to open the next (some courses open every lesson at once). A video lesson counts as complete once you have watched about 80% of it, a reading lesson when you mark it done, and a quiz lesson when you pass the quiz.
What score do I need to pass a quiz? Can I retake it?
Each quiz has a pass mark, usually 70%. You can retake a quiz as many times as you need, and after you pass you can review the correct answers.
How long do I have access to a course?
Your access continues for as long as your account is in good standing and the course remains on the platform, so you can learn at your own pace and come back to lessons later.
Can I download the videos?
No. Videos stream inside the lesson player and show your account email as a watermark. Recording, downloading or sharing course videos is not allowed and can lead to your account being closed.
On how many devices can I use my account?
You can be signed in on up to 3 devices at once. If you sign in on a fourth, you will be asked to choose one of your devices to sign out. You can see your signed-in devices in your profile.
How do I ask the instructor a question?
Every course has a discussion board where you can post questions and talk with classmates. Your instructor answers there, and you get a notification when someone replies.
How are assignments graded?
Your instructor reviews your submission and gives a grade with feedback. You are notified when it has been graded.
Certificates
How do I get my certificate?
Your certificate is issued automatically as soon as you complete every lesson in the course. Find it in the Certificates section of your dashboard, where you can download it as a PDF.
Which name appears on my certificate?
The name on your profile at the moment the certificate is issued. Check that your full name is spelled correctly in your profile before you finish the last lesson.
How can an employer check that my certificate is real?
Every certificate has a unique certificate number. Anyone can confirm it at igrsbd.org/verify/ followed by that number, which shows the student, the course and the issue date.
Can I transfer a certificate to someone else?
No. Certificates are issued only to the account holder who completed the course and cannot be transferred.

I forgot my password. How do I reset it?
Use Forgot password on the sign-in page and enter your email. We will send you a link to set a new password.
